I have never really had an opinion either way about her but after watching the programme I now think she is fab.

I know alot of people keep slating her because they feel that she should be out of the public eye whilst she is ill, but I personally think that she should do whatever the hell she likes.

I cannot for one second imagine how she must feel knowing that she only has a 40% chance of surviving this and hope that luck is on her side and she makes a full recovery.

Whatever happens, her family should be very proud of her. She is trying so hard to stay positive for them all and carry one leading a normalish life for her boys.

It certainly made me think twice when I felt sorry for myself when I woke up this morning with a cold.

I watched this, I was shocked that her chances of surviving another 3 years are only 40%, I really hope she fully recovers, think she comes across really down to earth and fairly normal, and really bloody brave, going into hospital for her treatment alone and just sort of getting on with it.
Lol @ the wales thing though!

Didn't watch it but she's very brave and doing all she can to ensure her kids future. Wish her all the best to get better.

JumpingJingleBellsDizzy · 12/12/2008 10:39

Also didn't watch but she said in an interview she's only doing reality tv because she needs to survive

I might see if it's on demand. What channel was it on?

JumpingJingleBellsDizzy · 12/12/2008 10:39

I meant survive financially, let's hope she survives a long time too.

ForeverOptimistic · 12/12/2008 11:01

Why are her chances only 40%? Has the cancer spread beyond her cervix?

IllegallyBrunette · 12/12/2008 11:05

It was on Living.

Yes FO, it has spread. She has had a hysterectomy, but it has also spread to the surrounding tissues.

I watched it too. I don't know if I could be as brave in her situation. I too was shocked about the 40% thing that's not very good odds is it?

JumpingJingleBellsDizzy · 12/12/2008 11:09

thanks IB. Awful about the spread

IllegallyBrunette · 12/12/2008 11:10

No, I was shocked at the odds too.

I know she has done some daft things in her time, but I think deep down she is a lovely, genuine person who's kids mean the absolute world to her.

It hit home to me aswell that she is 3 years younger than me and going through this, and that really shocked me.

It is repeated tomorrow evening. Think it is 7pm.

roundcornvirgin · 13/12/2008 17:38

That's awful.

Guadalupe · 13/12/2008 17:48

I didn't watch it, too close to home for me having had a hysterectomy in May for the same thing, though thankfully mine was stage 1. I can't imagine how she feels other than how I felt briefly before I knew my surgery would be curative. Hideous.
