A lovely film, but I far, far prefer the original!

eandh · 07/12/2008 18:42

we watched that this morning (dd1 who is 4.3 loved it) as a treat she is still up (normally in bed at 6.30) and watching home alone and finding it very very funny!

We3kingsoforientRaahh · 07/12/2008 18:43

i know, but sadly it is unlikely to be shown on telly these days

(Raahh realises she is very old, and remembers when sunday afternoon films were Shirley temple musicals)

I have the original on dvd- used to be the film i would warch whilst putting up the tree, along with 'it's a wonderful life', mulled wine and mince pies...

...pre dcs!!

I know this is bitchy, but that woman's eyes are too close together.

We3kingsoforientRaahh · 07/12/2008 18:58

ahhh, love the bit where he signs to the little girl...

My daughter is 3.4 and made me turn Home Alone off as it was scaring her a bit. She didn't like the old fella who lives next door. I really wanted to watch it too!!!

wintera · 07/12/2008 20:09

She was ok watching Miracle on 34th strret though! Richard Attenborough is lovely!

i watched it with Kangaboy

I love it too

It was the 1st time he had seen it and he loved it too

MrsGokWan · 07/12/2008 22:18

I've recorded it to watch with DC1(nearly 7) when the other 2 are in bed tomorrow night. Curled up on the sofa and drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows

callmeovercautious · 07/12/2008 22:21

DD and I started watching it tonight - she loved it. Everytime he went off the screen (adverts or other people talking) she grabbed my face and said "where's santa gone?"

So lovely I am so looking forward to this Christmas

expatinscotland · 07/12/2008 22:24

I hate that movie.

It makes me want to jump off a bridge, it's so damn cheesy.

Natalie had a sad, shit life full of alcohol abuse and it's anyone's guess how she met her very tragic end.

All versions of it should be banned except for stoned people to laugh at it.
