There was something in the paper the other day saying it was losing viewing figures due to people being confused about when its on etc. But then again I am sure they did a similar thing with Bleak House and that did ok. If memory serves they had eps of Bleak house on over 2 consecutive nights each week.

I love Dorrit. I know it has been panned by some but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Panorama is like Daily Mail TV these days. Humph.

abraid · 04/12/2008 20:25

I am cross, too. My husband has rung the BBC to complain on our behalf.

wintera · 04/12/2008 20:28

Write or ring in to points of view. I love hearing the irate phone calls they play on there!

southeastastra · 04/12/2008 20:29

it is like the dm. why a special? don't get it

did he really ring abraid? did he call points of view

Ohh, I'm quite pleased as I would have missed it tonight! When is it on instead? (I agree with panorama being rubbish these days tho'.)

CrushaGrape · 04/12/2008 20:43

Does anybody know when tonight's LD will be shown as it's been bumped tonight?

The scheduling for LD has been bizarre. The first episode was on a Sunday for one hour, which is the ideal time slot, as it's perfect Sunday evening fodder. These midweek 30 minute episodes just don't seem appropriate (I don't care if Dickens used to publish novels episodically in periodicals, I like my costume dramas in meaty chunks).

RustyBear · 04/12/2008 20:48

According to the announcement 'it can be seen in the omnibus edition on Sunday'

Unless you're in Scotland, where it's on tomorrow at 8.30pm.

Oh, and it's also being shown on December 9th at 2.45 am

Don't know when it'll be on iplayer - they don't put it on until it's been broadcast, so possibly Saturday, possibly not till Monday.

southeastastra · 05/12/2008 08:31

thanks for that, think i can get bbcscotland on cable

dh was - I was out and would have missed it anyway . However think it is ridiculous resceduling a high profile costume drama series for the sake of a one-off "special" on events long since passed. So much for loyalty to the paying viewers.

iamnotimpressed · 05/12/2008 11:07

I got confused too. watched on wednesday, but if you look on iplayer it says there was one on Tuesday. Maybe we all missed that but saw wedsnesdays? gonna check out iplayer now.
I get fed up when they mess with the schedules, this is the only thing i watch.

SpirobranchusGiganteus · 05/12/2008 11:26

It is funny that they pull a drama about a parent who systematically abuses his daughter by placing his own comfort ahead of her needs -- in order to run a documentary about a parent who ...

furrycat · 05/12/2008 11:48

haha spiro. Very true

abraid · 05/12/2008 11:52

He tried ringing but the switchboard was jammed!

If I'm gonna watch programmes about dysfunctional families I'd rather they were wearing pretty period dress.

It's the thin end of the wedge. Imagine if they'd pulled SPOOKS to put this stuff on.

MissM · 05/12/2008 12:00

Was furious last night! I look forward to LD all week - it's just about the only thing me and DH get a chance to do together! Why couldn't Panorama be on at 8.30 after LD? I can't watch on Sunday because it's right in the middle of DC's bathtime. I spitting mad!

southeastastra · 05/12/2008 20:32

abraid!

it's on bbcscotland now!

abraid · 06/12/2008 15:11

Gar! Can't get BBC Scotland.

Will try and catch the omnibus.

THanks southeastastra.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 06/12/2008 15:20

I had it set to record on our digi recorder thing, as was out on Thurs. Then snuggled down yesterday with blanket on sofa whilst DS had nap. Pressed play and.... blimming Panorama 'special'

scampadoodle · 08/12/2008 16:47

So when was last thursday's episode shown, apart from in Scotland? Has it been on yet?

LIZS · 08/12/2008 16:48

yesterday teatime
