Doctors - Rape storyline

Been meaning to mention this all week. Usually I am not particularly keen on Doctors, its normally a bit daft. However, I think Vivien's rape and the rape trial have been handled very well. I thought it was brave of them to attempt a rape storyline with an older lady as the victim. I also thought a lot of research must have been done in order for them to express some of the shame and feelings of rape victims. Pity Doctors isn't as professional as this all the time.

Perhaps that is why they chose Vivien to go through this. To have someone seen as strong and perhaps not as sympathetic as other characters.

i don't watc Dr's but im glad they seem to have handled this storyline well.

there is nothing ore damaging than a fumbled storyline, especialy in a daytime shwo that is watched by mostly women.

The bit that I thought was very well done was when Vivien was being cross examined and she stated that after the rape she just lay on the floor all night and didn't move until morning. Whilst lying there she had all sorts of thoughts and childhood memories going through her head. It reminded me of Tori Amos's song Me and a gun, about her own rape, in which she describes switching off and thinking about Barbados, biscuits, and all sorts of other things. Things that might sound strange to a lot of people.
