The Barristers

Is anyone watching this? A female barrister has just said she thinks all barristers are teetotal! Is this true?! Has the world changed? I worked in a Chambers once, never saw a barrister there who didn't drink.

Watching it. Thought it was really interesting. Don't know about barristers but I used to hang around with a big group of solicitors. They always seemed to be out on the piss, on warnings from work for poor work performance due to being permanantly hung over and in fact a bit nuts.

Are you sure she didn't say that she wished all barristers were teetotal? I've never met a barrister yet who didn't enjoy, at the very least, fine wines .

There was an empty bottle of red on the kitchen table...... perhaps she meant she had been teetotal so far that day.

Not sure, but I think she was being facetious?

She was trying to be funny. The only teetotal barristers I know are observant Muslims. Otherwise it is champagne and fine wine on drip.

Am a muslim barrister and dont drink my husband converted to Islam and does not drink.(he is also a barrister)people in the profession were horrified he had given up alcohol!

Thought so! It's just she looked so serious (and I think I was a bit tired. That's my excuse).

I really enjoyed this show. The prospective/hopefuls all looked so normal and ordinary.
