DS2 saw an advert for this and obviously misheard it, and said to me "you have that book mum don't you, The Devil wore" as in Devil wore Prada!
Maybe just as well he misunderstood

TheArmadillo · 17/11/2008 21:23

what's it about?

cariboo · 17/11/2008 21:23

carrotsandpeasifyouplease · 17/11/2008 21:26

i was just about to post a thread on it, it looks good - anyone know anything about it?

MegBusset · 17/11/2008 21:26

Oooh, yes, John Simm

SixSpotBonfire · 17/11/2008 21:37

Rather more to the point, Dominic West...[drool].

It's about Cromwell!

Are you a Witchfinder General sort of girl SSB, or more of a By the Sword Divided type?

SixSpotBonfire · 17/11/2008 21:42

It depends which foot I'm digging with, Marina .

Well I'm looking forward to it but just know at some stage DS is going to ask "Mummy, what's a whore?" In the same way that he has heard us mention Desperate Housewives and wants to know what it's about.

SixSpotBonfire · 17/11/2008 21:43

Pea, I don't think there's anything in "Let's Talk about where babies come from" that's going to help you with this one.

carrotsandpeasifyouplease · 19/11/2008 22:01

carrotsandpeasifyouplease · 20/11/2008 08:00

i did enjoy this but i would have liked to know more about the history at the time so if anybody would like to enlighten me i would be very grateful or i might just go and google.

I thought it was very good. All the right stuff: beautiful people, history, nookie, heaving bosoms (for dh).

Wish it was on Sundays though cos I like a nice period drama for a Sunday evening. I just couldn't get along with Little Dorrit cos I kep missing the Thursday episode which makes it hard to follow.

MrsBadger · 20/11/2008 09:03

do you know, the onscreen schedule in our PVR had the title starred out, and I was looking at it going 'The Devil's what?'

took me a good few minutes

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/11/2008 09:06

missed it! (football was on last night ) what channel was it on?

TsarChasm · 20/11/2008 09:16

C4. Looks as if it's on again Sat evening (possibly a repeat of last night?)

What I especially liked (cos I'm a girly girl) were the costumes. The women really looked as gorgeous as they do in those huge paintings of beauties of the time that you see in stately homes.
