Sky plus box on the blink again!

Anyone else had problems? I am worried as we turned down the insurance for the box. Will they replace it do you think? If not will be spending a lot more time on MN!

What's wrong with it?

It just doesnt come on. Then we unplug it and plug back in and after a while it comes on eventually. Sometimes it wont go off. Tonight everything has gone red! Its bizarre.

If its out of warranty sky charge £65 to come out and check and if (like ours yesterday) the box is dead they will replace box

So you get a new box for free but they charge you 65 quid to come out and do it?

TBH I forgot to ask if it was new or reconditioned but yes thats what I was told on the phone.

Bah, they hassled us so much to get the insurance when the warranty ran out and we kept saying no. NTL used to just replace them for free.

Ours has had no signal on some of the channels today but randomly it's working on the others. I think it was due to the bad weather.

Have googled it and identified something called the 15 month problem ie a few months out of warranty a lot of boxes mysteriously go wrong! They are so temperamental.
