Yes George, I think we get that you're an architect now, no need to start every single sentence with "as an architect"

OP posts:
Fimbo · 26/11/2008 23:06

Didn't like that kitchen/lounge he did tonight. Don't think the bloke thought much of it either. You could almost see him thinking = you did this for £60k

bellabelly · 26/11/2008 23:11

The poor bloke, being stuck out in that shed instead of his proper music room! I'd have told the 3 "kids" to leave home to be honest...

Fimbo · 26/11/2008 23:12

Yes, the shed was nice but it was about half the size of the room he had before. Did you see the size of one of his keyboards - no-way was it going to fit in that shed!

bellabelly · 26/11/2008 23:27

Yes - it was TINY! And I think George fancied the missus again...

Fimbo · 26/11/2008 23:29

I thought it was the daughter.

bagsforlife · 27/11/2008 08:33

But he did put the special lamp he chose into the shed....

Didn't like the kitchen/sitting room effort either. Too much furniture in the sitting room bit!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 27/11/2008 09:01

didn't they have a piano in one room before as well? Where did all their stuff go??

purplemonkeydishwasher · 27/11/2008 09:02

and sorry, but if 'an architect' wasted money on painting the house WHITE i'd be pretty annoyed.

brimfull · 27/11/2008 09:10

yeh sitting room over crowded..imagine it with all five adults in it as well!

agree-kick the kids out..get them to rent somewhere and act their age ffs

Tanee58 · 27/11/2008 09:21

I hated the new furniture. And open plan kitchen lounge - so you never get away from the cooking mess. Horrible black marble counters. Nice conservatory though I would have kept the door access.

And why/how could those 'kids' bear to stay at home? Have they no lives/lovers? Talk about making the cuckoos comfortable.

And yes, where DID all their stuff go?

Furball · 27/11/2008 09:24

I like the programme but can't stand that bint doing all the showing us funny furniture, in most peoples houses it would look wrong. Last week all those fancy carved beds and this week she pointed out some very weird carved sideboard thingy. Hands up anyone that has or wants a huge tankard on their table.

Furball · 27/11/2008 09:24

they did have another sitting room as well.

Tanee58 · 27/11/2008 09:25

I want one!!! Oh no, wait, I've already got one.

Tanee58 · 27/11/2008 09:26

I bet they couldn't get into that other room for stuff stashed up to the ceiling!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/11/2008 09:27

As an architect.......

Will the budget be enough?.......... cue melodramatic music.

I don't like to compromise ........ he has to compromise on each show.

blah blah blah.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 27/11/2008 09:28

I kept switching to channel five when that annoyng woman was talking about bavarian architecture and blah blah blah. MUCh more useful to know how to cook in a warzone.

bagsforlife · 27/11/2008 09:37

That woman is inane. Who is she? DH and I reckon she is girlfriend of George 'as an architect', possibly accounting for him having the hots for all the women on the show.

Also think it must take ages and ages to paint the whole house white...it would ours.

Does all the new furniture come out of the budget too?

lovelysongbirdfliessouth · 27/11/2008 09:57

oh that kitchen was awful, worse tha the one they had before, its was all fussy with fany handles, i think they wanted something with clean lines nad very simple.

i would of been gutted wasting 50k on that, as for the man shed, wheres all the crap that ws in the old shed going to go? like the lawnmower etc?

as soon as they move all there old stuff back in that they will need like lawnmovwers that house is going to be a cluttereed mess.

far too much stuff in the kitchen living room too the sofas touching.

and surely if gc has an imagination he doesn't need to paint the whole house to white to understand it.
how does he cope with making a building from the start then?

and that voice arrgghh

next week looks good though

purplemonkeydishwasher · 27/11/2008 10:03

I want him to come do my house.

I could give him about a fiver to work with.

brimfull · 27/11/2008 11:43

lovelysongbird-pmsl at fany handles in the kitchen....now there's a novelty feature

lovelysongbirdfliessouth · 27/11/2008 17:19

gg

cocopops · 27/11/2008 18:24

what size do you think the knocked through kitchen/living room was- thinking about doing the same but am sure my room would be much smaller?

checked on the website but no details.

Agree about that annoying woman!

Furball · 27/11/2008 19:50

don't know cocopops but they did have 2 chunky chairs right where you needed to get past and a chunky sofa which didn't help

laweaselmys · 28/11/2008 16:50

I was thinking about doing that too. Was slightly terrified by the 20k price tag just for the knock through though...

Although the other half would be a dining room for me. I don't like sitting rooms being open onto kitchens, the food smells get everywhere. Urgh.

lovelysongbirdfliessouth · 29/11/2008 09:46

another point, now gc has taken the doors off so its open into the conseratory, it must be bloddy freezing in there.
