Theres a rule in aristocracy that when you marry your husband you remain faithful to him until the son and heir is born.

This is brilliant. Am loving it. Can remember 'Kanga' and Camilla in the 70s/80s and especially when Prince Charles/Diana thing was at it's peak and they categorically denied him ever having an affair with CBP or anyone. Hilarious. Wonder if Charles and Camilla are watching!

that the husbands of kanga and camilla would go out "hunting" or "fishing" when prince charles came to visit for a "comfort stop"

Yes, that was delightfully put wasn't it? Also Prince Charles so hideously unattractive (and can vouch was so at the time as well, if you see what I mean!).

what a end, camilla got what she wanted, she played the better game.

This was so sad. 3 ladies and now 2 of them dead.

I once met Prince Charles and thought he was surprisingly charismatic in person. Although that could be because my expectations were so low, I suppose.

That upper class thing about turning a blind eye if your wife is being rogered by a Royal is quite strange. Droit de seigneur lives on, it seems.

twinsetandpearls · 04/11/2008 23:15

lol at that could be because my expectations were low.

I thank you!

It was work-related, was eight months p/g and hot and irritable and didn't want to stand around making polite chit chat but a good contact of mine really wanted to 'present' me so I got dragged into this circle of people. Chas was much more charming than I'd imagined he might be (not that I'd ever thought about it much). I did NOT curtsey (not sure I could have managed it at that stage, tbh).
