60 minute makeover

I know it's a lovely idea, and the recipients are always very deserving, but would anyone else be mortified to get home and find some designer had totally changed their house?

Tried to think how I'd react if someone had turfed out my carefully sourced tip and junkyard bits and pieces and covered the house in flock wallpaper and design statements. I don't think I'd be very happy

It is good viewing though, in a comatose, mid-afternoon, not-enough-coffee kind of way!

I think I'd be quite chuffed as I want flock wallpaper on one wall to hide the uneveness but can't afford it and don't have the skills, my curtains are starting to hang too low from where the kids pull at them (I do say not to ) the carpet has had so much spilt on it too and it's only 16mths old so I would mind them replacing that but I do have the same carpet throughtout so I'd like it to be the same. If I didn't like the design stuff I could always flog it on ebay It would all have to be child friendly though because I'm a childminder so I think in my case I'd just be grateful not to come home and find they'd turned it into a nursery with everything from ikea! Some funky storage for the toys would be great but at the end of the day I like to store it all away and have a break from looking at plastic!

I'd be incredibly p-ed off because the finish would be utterly appalling. I've seen the result of a BBC makeover programme and quality wise it was a disgrace.

That reminds me of Changing Rooms, the amount of people who were totally gutted with the result (and that was before ten minutes had passed and everything fell apart!)
