Pretty sure you do. Yes.

FAQ · 15/10/2008 21:02

You need a TV Licence to use any television receiving equipment such as a TV set, digital box, DVD or video recorder, PC, laptop or mobile phone to watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV.

No1GruffaloHunter · 15/10/2008 21:02

Only if you watch TV live.

Hmm - dissent in the ranks

I wasn't sure if you'd need one to watch iPlayer, as that could count as a 'broadcast' - but we checked when DD went to university & the official TV licensing site definitely has the wording FAQ quotes - so she didn't get a licence as she only watches stuff on iplayer & similar sites.

no you DO NOT. If you only watch it on bbc i player, itv catch up etc and NEVER whne it is live you DO NOT need a licence.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/10/2008 21:09

Only live tv, not iplayer etc
