Peter Kay Comeback?

I read an article a couple of months ago about Peter Kay bringing out a new series for Channel 4 in October. Its not Phoenix Nights, but more of a take on society like 'That Peter Kay Thing' was.

Has anybody heard anything about this new series, and when it is due on air?

maidamess · 12/10/2008 21:32

I thought he was funny as the dinner lady...the rest was lame. A one joke show.

Karen03 · 12/10/2008 21:58

Does anyone know if this is repeated, gutted that ive missed the majority of it and going to watch desperate housewives now! Thanks

Hulababy · 12/10/2008 21:59

I think PK is fab; his observation stuff is so spot on.

MrsJamin · 13/10/2008 11:51

it's such an easy target, such obvious jokes, but it was hilarious.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 13/10/2008 11:56

My favourite line, from Geraldine, 'Before I was on the competition, they wouldn't have pissed on me if I was on fire. And now, I think they would.' .

Nbg · 13/10/2008 11:59

I thought it was absolutely shite. So did dh.

Dh and I were really disappinted.

The tour documentary during the middle was funny though.

Marina · 13/10/2008 11:59

We had to watch Stephen Fry extend his patronage to the lucky residents of the Eastern seaboard of the USA instead
I love Peter Kay! Hope they repeat it.

DH and I aren't particularly big Peter Kay fans (not really fans at all), but I liked the look of it, and even though DH said 'Do we have to watch it?' in a huffy way, he was laughing regularly too. We switched over in the gap in the middle to watch the Stephen Fry thing.

Does anyone know if this is gonna be repeated? I bloody forgot all about it!!

MrsJamin · 13/10/2008 12:38

my favourite bit was when kat deeley was just about to announce the winner but the crowd were shouting so she shouted "F-ING SHUT UP!"

MrsJamin · 13/10/2008 12:44

Just watched the winners song video on 4music - I can't believe they're actually releasing it!

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 13/10/2008 12:46

I thought they might. It isn't for Children in Need, is it? Though I guess that's a BBC thing, so maybe not.

And the way when she was interviewing the lad, she always said exactly what he was going to say. I liked the no steps thing too.

anniebear · 13/10/2008 12:50

wasnt all that impressed

wintera · 13/10/2008 13:05

The song was co-written by Gary Barlow apparently.
