Is anyone watching it?

It's childbirth this week, and it's in the hospital I work/had DD1 in! How bizzarre!!!

So far the only shots of a woman in labour are of a woman lying on her back, how disappointing.....

yes, and why are they all screaming? (because they are on thier backs....) I made no noise at all, apart from a bit of mooing during transition!

Fortunately I don't actually work in maternity, so I'm not professionally embaressed, why do MW's allow/suggest that women do this? When I was in labour with DD1 I vividly remember there being posters on the walls in the delivery suite explaining that squatting etc were optimal positions for childbirth. I could see it clearly as I lay there, on my back, in stirrups, telling the Dr I wasn't supposed to push on my back.....

I'm hoping they're going to go into more detail than that silly woman presenter (who's childless) squealing 'ooh, labour, it must be terrifying...

Why are they getting these blokes to stop peeing when they are so that they can exercise there pelvic floor. The physio they sent me to told me not to do it because it gives your bladder the wrong signal ??? Hasn't made much difference, my bits still trail on the floor !

yes, and I hope they will show a birth that doesn't involve stirrups and screaming.

And not just the horror story type that scares most women into opiates and epidurals!

AND THEY ARE NOT "PAINS", THEY ARE CONTRACTIONS!!!

i dont get why every time they do a programme like this its always presented by someone who hasnt had children, so it just turns into a show about them being scared of the whole thing.

he's 19 and says he lost it when he was like 12 and has had too many to count and married women in their 40s and blah blah blah.

i don't know about you, but when i was a teen, i was really hung up on looks, and he ain't got em .

I just read in Grazia mag that the presenter lady had a fertility test in one of the shows and has pretty much zero chance of conceiving
