Just watched on 4OD. Bridge man is probably autistic. He can't help being the way he is. I know it still sucks for his wife and kids. But it probably sucks for him too. He just came over as classic Asperger's (autism with "normal to high IQ").He doesn't need to be castigated - just understood - and gently informed as to how his way of being affects others. This may not work for his situation, or that of his family. But they need to speak out plainly and clearly about how his lack of emotional involvement affects them.
He will probably rant; but it may eventually get through. They will have to keep doing this. I feel for his wife - he will likely act horrible and then expect her to be lovey dovey at a snap of his fingers. Hence her enjoyment of her children's hugs and not his.
Believe me - I know.
