Charley Boorman prog on Sunday. Return to form . .

Did anyone else catch his new prog on Sunday night? I thought it was very good. I liked Long Way Round but was not keen on Long Way Down as I found it quite rushed, and the atmosphere between Ewan and Charley was not as good in the second one either.

This was a return to form I thought. The scenery was beautiful! Particularly around Charley's childhood home.

I watched it and enjoyed it too

Shame Ewan didn't go too though

I missed Sunday's programme but I am really looking forward to the rest of the journey. I watched the repeats of Long Way Round recently and thought they came across well whereas in Long Way Down they really grated on me!

Fantastic trips definintely inspiration for future trips!

The expedition hinges on whether they can enter Iran and make it to Dubai in time to catch a container ship to Mumbai.

Yay - thanks for this! We can't get it here but it gave me an idea for a birthday present for DH so have just pre-ordered the DVD!

Possibly (a bit of a technophobe though) but then what would I buy DH for his birthday??

Its repeated on bbc2 tonight for anyone thats interested. I think its on about 11pm ish maybe? Not sure of time sorry but I know its on tonight!

The adventurer begins his most daring journey so far, as he gets off his bike and on to local means of transport such as container ships, dug-out canoes, solar cars and an elephant in a journey from Ireland to Australia. Preparations are underway as Charley plans the three-month expedition. A few knock-backs, several training courses and some minor route alterations later, the three team members are ready. They head northwards for the shores of Kilkeel and the start of their adventure.

It was good, I think in Long Way Down Ewan disappeared up his own ar$e and as for his wife

Charley is a big goof but this looks fun.

I just dont get the point of it.

Am glad he has that guy Russ with him and not that American guy. He was a real drama queen!! My Hubby finds it slightly odd that Charley and Ewan always kiss and hug each other when they meet. But then again they are actors Darling!!They're a different breed!

Quite enjoyable but really absolutely no point to it. think Charley is a bit 'Tim nice but dim' if you ask me. Good job his dad is world famous film director.Otherwise perfectly pleasant Sunday night viewing but hardly ground breaking documentary esp all the back-up to get them out of any pre-planned 'scrapes'.

They usually show some stuff to do with Unicef which I always find quite moving so hopefully there will be some of that. Didn't see tonights ep, am going to watch it on demand later.

I like Charley too. His zest for life makes me want to do stuff.

I'd love to see more of each place. I thought Iran looked beautiful but it's for all of ten minutes then they move on.

I hadn't noticed him before I saw the repeats of him and Ewan on their trip across Russia etc

LOved Ewan & Charlie because they looked like they were having so much fun on Long Way round. Didn't like LW Down as much as I agree it seemed very 'planned'.
Am quicke liking this although Charlie is so uptight about everything he needs Ewan to calm him down
