Mine is without a shadow of a doubt The Wire -

bereft at the thought of watching the last series, any ideas to fill the gap?

OP posts:
FrockHorror · 07/09/2008 20:38

Father Ted has me rofl-ing all over the place

Lazarou · 07/09/2008 20:38

Bottom, there should have been at least one more series

woodenchair · 07/09/2008 20:40

I loved Northern Exposure, that was a few years ago though

beansmum · 07/09/2008 20:40

I like really bad american detective shows. Diagnosis murder is pretty high up the list.

mablemurple · 07/09/2008 20:41

The Persuaders. Tony Curtis was utterly gorgeous in it, and the music was fab too. I have it as my ringtone.

maidamess · 07/09/2008 20:41

Sex and The City
A Very Peculiar Practice
Friends (boring I know but I can watch them ad infinitum)
The Office
Win Lose or Draw!

maidamess · 07/09/2008 20:42

Oh, and Give Us A Clue. God bless Lionel Blair and Una Stubbs.

squeaver · 07/09/2008 20:42

West Wing

WigWamBam · 07/09/2008 20:43

Can't narrow it down to only one! So have my top three instead.

Edge of Darkness
Takin' Over The Asylum
Help! ... but not much chance of any more of those being made now, though.

choosyfloosy · 07/09/2008 20:44

i would have to say Radio Phoenix, a soapish series about a local radio station that was on channel 4 literally in medieval times (1984?). We lived in the country and my life was a tedious hell of healthy walks and suitable friends. I used to feel literally sick with excitement on Wednesdays when it was on. It was British and a bit lumpish but I loved it.

Otherwise, I'd agree Northern Exposure which made Mondays bearable in my early 20s.

savetheplanetdontiron · 07/09/2008 20:44

West Wing

ladytophamhatt · 07/09/2008 20:44

Dexter.

I'm obsessed with it.

wintera · 07/09/2008 20:50

Definitely Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I became obsessed with it. Although, it has ruined any future television viewing pleasure for me, as I always compare other new shows to it! Guess what? They don't even come close! Buffy forever!!!

Buffy.
Angel.
House - this is essential viewing for everyone in the whole world because Hugh Laurie is beyond superb in it.
Bones.
Friends.

but

if you liked The Wire (which I've never seen), have you thought about something like Law and Order (SVU is our particular choice from the franchise...)

mosschops30 · 07/09/2008 20:53

Sex and the City (still watch on paramount now almost nightly)
Friends - still watched every night at dinner regardless of how many millions of times Ive seen the episode

rislip · 07/09/2008 20:54

The Sopranos or Seinfeld. Can't split it.
