Due to all the bad feelings and arguements recently with so many posts on one subject

I felt it may be better to put all the alerts on one post

Then it won't flood the active conversations

What do you all think?

RTKM - Thanks very much for the reminder. I nearly forgot about Dad tonight.

RTKangaMummy · 24/02/2005 18:49

Richard Briers was on This Morning today

He says it is a very strong drama

It is about abuse of old people by their family

but he said it is not all doom and gloom

Am looking forward to it

am far too hormonal (1st trimester) to cope with Dad - though it does look fab and has a great cast. Fat Friends it will be for me .

Thanks RTKM - it is a marvellous service. Someone mentioned MN awards earlier - think you should definitely get one

RTKangaMummy · 24/02/2005 19:11

RudyDudy Thank you

I think it is going to be funny and moving drama

But perhaps fat friends may be better if hormonal

Episode written by Lucy Gannon

"You miss a stair and your whole life goes down the plughole," moans Richard Briers as Larry near the start of this funny, moving drama about old age. Eighty-something Larry spends his days looking after wife Jeannie, trying to break through the fog of her Alzheimer's. But then he breaks his ankle and she has to go into a care home. Briers is on brilliant form as Larry, who's fun, full of life and maddening by turns. You can see how he gets on the nerves of his son Oliver, neatly played by Kevin Whately, particularly when Larry comes to stay. The story isn't just for our entertainment - it's part of a Comic Relief campaign to alert us to the way the elderly are treated, and often mistreated, when they're at their most powerless.

Larry James - Richard Briers

Jeannie James - Jean Heywood

Oliver James - Kevin Whately

Sandy James - Sinead Cusack

Millie James - Hannah Daniel

Jake - Dyfrig Morris

Mr Hill - Ian Saynor

Lesley - Philippa Easton

Maurice - John Nettleton

Zilla Carter - Caroline Berry

Maggie - Kerry Joy Stewart

Ian Greaves - Parvez Qadir

Iris Hart - Gwenllian Davies

Sally - Marilyn Le Conte

Peggy - Emma Treharne Jones
