it doesn't stand for anything.

They thought it sounded sufficiently futurish and acronym-ish and fab was an "in" word at the time.

FAB= OK according to my 7 yr old

Well, I thought it didn't stand for anything, but kept doubting myself. My 2 think it means good or something.

How disappointing that it doesn't stand for anything.

It doesn't stand for anything. They just wanted a 'punchy' catch phrase

I had a friend at work a few years back who was really into Thunderbirds. I asked him what it meant and he said - Forces Are Blue.

Bomper · 09/07/2008 10:54

I am sorry but you are all wrong - it means Fully Acknowledged Broadcast.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 09/07/2008 10:56

It isn't an acronym, just that at the time of it being made fab was a 'groovey' word to use.

according to wikipedia:

The characters use the radio sign-off "F.A.B." rather than "Roger" or "Out". Anderson was often asked what F.A.B. stood for, but stated it in fact simply stood for "fab" (short for "fabulous"), a 1960s catchphrase. During radio broadcasts it also stood for Fully Acknowledged Broadcast.
