I think that viewing numbers would vastly increase if real stars were chosen. Exclude winners of reality shows,internet stars and let real stars return and amazingly the viewing figures would dramatically increase. I am not watching it this year as I didn't know many of the stars.

I'm sure they'd love really big stars. I imagine they don't want to spend three months doing it for the money the BBC budget can offer.

The step too far for me for me, was a man who had been on the apprentice and then became a far right grifter. I’ve never gone back to strictly.

I understand he sued the BBC because he was voted out early despite apparently being a terrible dancer and barely fitting the loosest definition of celebrity - having your photo taken with JD Vance and saying controversial things on twitter doesn’t qualify in my opinion.

First post nailed it they’d have to pay thousands for big named stars and I think with all the bad publicity it has had recently most big names wouldn’t touch it

Edited to say I’d like to see a strictly with non famous people think that would be amazing to see Joe Bloggs off the street turning his life around learning a new skill

The panel needs to change if they want to attract a younger audience. Having one judge over riding the others scores is antiquated. Having a guest judge (a star who has been on the show) each week to bring it to 5 judges and most votes exits would redress any imbalance. And yes, looking at DWTS in the USA versus our “celebs” speaks volumes.

Tbh I think they do a fab job. There’s usually one or two slightly bigger stars, then a couple of comedians/ sports people/ soap stars/reality stars or influencers. It means everyone knows at least 3 or4 and by the time you get to week 4 you feel like you know them all anyway. I’ve seen people for the first time on strictly and then gone on to watch/ listen to their stuff.
