First one was last night - good group but Tom Cruise was a bit OTT

I was just coming to see if anyone had commented on this. I found him really annoying, and creepy. It's all about him.

Inventorofthetoasterstreudel · 26/09/2026 13:24

I always think Tom Cruise spoils the atmosphere when he’s on, he sits far too close and leans in a lot and yes that could be him being interested in other guests but I just find it’s his way of inserting himself into everyone else’s stories usually with nothing of any note to add.

adverteasing · 26/09/2026 18:06

I find him very charismatic, despite myself.

Just watching last nights. Don’t know why but didn’t expect Catherine to have a Welsh accent

I didn’t really get much from this weeks episode.

Froughties · 04/10/2026 21:40

This is my favourite programme, but I haven't enjoyed either episode yet.

Inventorofthetoasterstreudel · 04/10/2026 22:03

I found this with the last series and there were several episodes I didn’t bother with at all. I don’t watch it live anymore, I record it and skip through quite a bit. It’s not as good as it used to be when I’d watch it all regardless of who was on.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 04/10/2026 22:10

I find TC a bit creepy, he kept pawing at Florence Pugh, he just loves the sound of his own voice.

If he were chocolate he’d eat himself 🙈😂

adverteasing · 10/10/2026 19:04

All four guests last night seem lovely, and I love both Coleman and Skarsgård, but it was a pretty boring episode. Bit worried that all of the series so far has fallen a bit flat.

Froughties · 10/10/2026 20:02

I was wondering if its actually me who's flat! It's just not doing it for me.

Froughties · 10/10/2026 20:03

Graham has been great and funny though! Just the sofa not working!

adverteasing · 10/10/2026 20:14

Graham has been great and funny though! Just the sofa not working! Yes, I agree.

Normally the casting is great. They must be pulling their hair out. Which safe hands would you be booking? I'm going for Greg Davis in position 4.

MidsummerMadness91 · 10/10/2026 20:15

I think it's because they've stripped out all the fun that used to make it unique. Other than the red chair.

I remember when he'd do pranks on the public, audience interaction etc. That was BBC too, not C4, whereas now it's standard celebs pushing their projects one after another. Arguably they also schedule too many guests too. There isn't the time to just vibe like they used to when they just had 2 guests.

adverteasing · 10/10/2026 20:17

The Big Red Chair is often my favourite bit, but even that was flat this week.

Always ffwd through the music unless it's Robbie Williams. Ok, I'm going for Greg Davis in position 4 and Robbie Williams in Position 1 and doing the music. A hit from the old days.

Inventorofthetoasterstreudel · 10/10/2026 20:44

I’m not even interested in the funny anecdotes anymore because they don’t seem genuine they feel like they’re set up for social media clips. They’re all too self aware. Really miss the genuine interactions there used to be amongst the guests.

Poor Graham does seem to be working really hard these days. Just seen next week’s line up, will give it a miss.

adverteasing · 17/10/2026 19:24

Wow. Tarantino's a character isn't he?

TheCoolTiger · 17/10/2026 20:34

Anyone know why Ellen DeGeneres was on?

Testing out the reaction to see if she can get any tv work here? I don’t know, I didn’t bother this week, I feel like this series might end before a really good episode happens ☹️

She did keep admitting she had nothing to promote and was just there to pass the time, but I couldn’t believe she meant it literally!

Boolabus · 17/10/2026 23:13

Colin Farrell was brilliant as usual. Love him, such a genuine humble interesting guy. Worth watching episode for him and Tarantino's need to go for a pee half way through 😂

Froughties · 18/10/2026 05:13

It was definitely better.

B9waiting · 18/10/2026 22:11

Completely agree @Inventorofthetoasterstreudelshe was absolutely testing the waters to see if she can get work here. She came across as very boring though - can’t see her doing well on TV here other than IACGMOOH or Celeb BB or another show like that!

Inventorofthetoasterstreudel · 18/10/2026 22:25

I could just see them signing her up for IACGMOOH for a bit of career rehab. I watched a little bit earlier and have to say she didn’t come across well, don’t run away from the US with your career in tatters and a bad reputation to then insult the locals of the area you’ve moved to. I know she was joking about the no teeth thing but it doesn’t even work as a joke, she’s moved to one of the most expensive places in the country. She just looked ignorant and rude.
