It’s fascinating to watch, I feel sorry for the women , but at the same time want to shout FFS ! at them.

JaneJeffer · 17/09/2026 23:13

But even when they had people telling them it was a scam they ignored them and carried on.

META are completely useless at dealing with scammers and trolls

Watching it now. The make-up tutorials were so weird! But I guess Covid times were indeed strange. I suppose ‘meeting’ people became a whole other thing during that period.

It seems so obvious to us after the fact, when it’s all condensed into a few minutes, but you do need to remember that these are people messaging every day for weeks or months before they consider themselves in a relationship.

And then he tests them with smaller amounts which he pays back, future faking and flattering them while appearing trustworthy because he’s paid them back the money they lend.

You may think these women are naive, but how many women on here invest their lives, have children, give up careers for men who future fake, lie and cheat on them. Men who are abusive and nasty and still their long suffering wives and girlfriends stay and hope things will improve.

People want to love and be loved. Someone who seems to be a model partner and is offering them everything they ever dreamed of is intoxicating.

Am watching the third episode right now. It’s truly mind-boggling and all types of women fall for it.

I can’t believe that Gaby sold a house to give money to a guy she’d never met.

And yes to the ‘leather daddy’ - WTAF! Did we really need to know that?

He did say on the film that he wanted everything out there (pardon the pun) so that no one could use anything against him in the future. He seems such a nice man and I'm glad the women got to meet him properly. But I think Gaby needs serious help. Couldn't believe she was still sending money to the Nigerian.☹️ I wonder what her husband thought of it all.

I felt bad for the woman who stayed friends with him at the end, they’re paddling in the sea , and said she wished he wasn’t gay.

Gaby needed a reality check. So weird that a couple of them were married too, fair enough their marriages may not be great, but even then …?

She'll soon change her tune when she watches the documentary and sees him in all his glory.😅

I think it shows how desperate people become blind to red flags. Those AI photos were really obviously ‘wrong’ but it was Annette’s friend who immediately raised the issue and did the research. Annette seemed oblivious and I wondered how many doctored photos she’d received before showing one to her friend.

And Gaby!!! OMG! She gave the first scammer one and a half million!! I thought she’d finally seen the light when the Bitcoin fraud team were querying her sending a large amount of money to the scammer and she now ‘thought it might be suspicious’ and she was going to ‘do her own research’. I was inwardly cheering. She finds Brian’s genuine social media but still decides to believe the scammer that Brian has stolen everything from him and sends him the money!! She rather pompously tells the Bitcoin fraud team that it’s fine and ‘she only deals with people she knows personally’! Again I was inwardly screaming ‘No you don’t’!

Then after all that she pays £500000 to the second scammer who is allegedly ‘helping’ her find her first scammer. It was actually quite entertaining watching Brian’s face when was telling him. He was obviously trying not to scream ‘you fool’ and trying to gently say she could be being scammed again. But no she was ‘investing’ in his business in Nigeria to the tune of half a million 🙀🙀🙀 She trusted totally him but was totally unable to explain why. It was so bizarre to watch. She appeared to be an attractive, intelligent woman who looked after herself and not without means. I couldn’t understand why she couldn’t find some real life relationship but she prefers to live in an online fantasy world!
