So am I the only one who didn't know what they were on about when they were talking about Clicks? They mean cliques. But surely that is pronounced 'kleek' not kick? Otherwise Clinique would be Clinic?

As you were. Just had to get that off my chest 🙈

I read somewhere else that it is the American pronunciation.

ProdTraybakeQueen · 13/09/2026 18:34

The show is primarily made for US viewers and it’s pronounced (incorrectly) in the US as ‘click’.

It massively irritated me too - ideal
opportunity to educate American viewers. (Mind you, there are an increasing number of people on this side of the pond who also pronounce it incorrectly)

Mumteedum · 13/09/2026 18:53

Ohhhhh didn't realise it was that popular in the US. That makes sense. Thanks. 😁

Ted Lasso infuriates me because often the english characters will say something that is US English. I assume US writing team and written for a US audience, but it does take me out of it for a minute.

I had never noticed that before. S4 isn't quite working for me, sadly. Tracey Ullman's character is awful.

She really is awful and pointless

Looks like Zelda is in it more now. This week's episode was awful.

Mumteedum · 18/09/2026 13:00

Do they have any female writers? I don't think it's going well this season at all.

I don't think so? And I agree.

The click thing really irritated me too. And agree with Zelda, she seems a pointless and unnecessary character. I’m not really getting what she’s contributing.

I've said this on the other TL thread but I think she's got an ulterior motive and is working to take over the club/ bring Rebecca or the club down for some reason. There has to be some point to her, and some form of nemesis now Rupert's not in it.

Sparkletastic · 18/09/2026 15:01

Cleeeq for sure

It is strange - they say click and nitch, croy-sont, but then fillay and ommarge. So random. We have gone with fillet like millet and homage like porridge but are sticking with cleek and neesh.

Even stranger, they say pohsta and Italians don't say it that way. They have a special American vowel for taco and pasta that is not related to Mexican Spanish or Italian pronunciation, or English. What drives these collective decisions!

Mumteedum · 18/09/2026 18:48

To be fair, it's croy-sont in Wolverhampton 😆
