Never watched before but Sophie Willan has really grown on me on sewing bee

I’ve just finished the first series of above and absolutely adored it. Can’t wait to treat myself to series two now.

It's absolutely brilliant. Funny, moving. And an amazing cast.

Its genuinely one of the best tv shows - up there with flea bag and chewing gum

And I just love her - i have some stuff in common with her, shes made me like myself a little 🙂

You’re not the only one OP. She’s great on the Sewing Bee and we’ve started watching Alma’s Not Normal too. Such a great cast.

I finished season two last week. Had a few tears at the end and it brought up a lot of feelings about my own childhood (some time in care, alcoholic parents).

She is a truly remarkable human.

Season two is the best one! Enjoy!

I absolutely loved Alma’s Not Normal. All the characters were brilliant.

Just finished it - I cried at the end. So beautifully done and so many poignant moments.

Didn’t realise it paralleled her life to some extent.

I love Alma’s not Normal! Stellar cast but for me it’s Siobhan Finneran who deserves more recognition for her role - she is AMAZING.

The actress playing Aunt Evie - Selina Mosinski - is also excellent. She's the lead in a good web comedy, "Charity Shop Sue".

I found this wonderful comedy after listening to Sophie on the podcast 'How to Fail'. She is very candid about how this is semi-autobiographical and reflects her childhood and early adulthood. Clips of her winning the bafta for the pilot episode in lockdown are priceless.
