Last year DH and I had a week in Wharfedale, just a few miles up the road from Grassington where they film the Skeldale bits. It was lovely spotting all the locations used in the programme.
We saw Skeldale House but it looks different in real life because the entrance porch with the stone pillars is not really there, it is a fibre glass addition they put on for filming. The windows also looked different. Definitely the same house though because, just round the corner, there is a book shop which doubles as the green grocer when filming and at the back of the shop they had a little exhibition with photos showing filming taking place.
I saw the trailer for the new series (series 7) and thought it looked worryingly like they might be getting ready to round things off. However, I just looked it up and apparently there will be a Christmas special and series 8 has also been confirmed.
