I quite enjoyed this, gently funny, quite endearing. Plot is that grumpy big-city doc moves to small town Americana life. I never watched Doc Martin, but this is the US version. There is an amusing crossover episode with Martin Clunes guesting as a doctor.

Also has Abigail Spencer (Scottie from Suits) who I always like.
Plus Annie Potts (Ghostbusters) and Didi Conn (Grease)

I started it expecting it to be a multi-season extravaganza, but sadly just 1 season - S2 is in the works though.

The only thing that really annoyed me was the fact they never enunciated "Martin" properly. It was always "Mart'n"!

Stumbled upon this show a few weeks ago and really enjoying Best Medicine. Did enjoy Doc Martin and often catch the re runs, but think the US version is fun & quite different. Also enjoying the relationships developing between all the other townfolk which I just got fed up with in the UK version. It all feels lighter & a bit more (salty) breezy somehow.
