Is anyone watching this on Prime?

it’s a reality show with Michael Owen and his family, talking about his racing stables and life after football.

once you get past the initial cringe, I’m finding it unintentionally hilarious, he is a real life David Brent. I genuinely think I’ve belly laughed every episode (mainly because he’s so socially awkward!)

case in point - the opening sentence on episode 1 “I always knew I was exceptionally talented…”

im now three episodes in. and it’s either the worst thing I’ve ever seen or the greatest reality tv show ever made. The cringe is off the scale.

I was just talking to DH about this and I also said David Brent! I was watching the clip where he talks about how everyone things he’s really boring but he’s actually great fun…. 🙈

Well, I’m so uninterested in football I just had to google who he is, so I certainly wouldn’t have thought to watch this, but you’ve made it sound brilliant. I’m off to give it a go! 🙂

I've watched two episodes and found it incredibly boring, so won't be watching any more.

if you watch it with the mindset of “this is David Brent but he doesn’t realise it” it becomes really funny. It’s the way he laughs hysterically at his own bad dad jokes.

I don’t like his daughter though,

I’ve watched the first episode. It really is so cringe that he’s trying to show that he’s actually, “really, really fun”. It makes it funny, because he doesn’t seem to realise how bad it is!

I agree re the bravery one, brave enough to throw an apple across the lounge into the bin! #mortifyinglyembarrasingforthekids!

exactly that @welshpolarbear

In one of the episodes, he orders a drink "without the fruit," then immediately follows it up with "I don't eat fruit" and stares at the bloke at the bar, who doesn't react - but then the camera does a brilliant close up shot of this bloke's face, which very clearly shows him thinking "what a dickhead"

That was the point where I got hooked, because it's so unintentionally funny.

I hate to say this but he’s actually grown on me since the first episode 🙈 They are obviously a really close family and I loved the way they were putting their Xmas tree up themselves! I know this sounds silly but I have friends who are probably equally wealthy and none of them would dream of doing their Christmas tree themselves, they would all hire people in to do it. There
was something quite touching about it. I also like his drive - so many ex-footballers sit around with no purpose but he has really thrown everything he has into a new passion. I like that. I still find him very cringey though!
