We have a rare night / lie-in tomorrow with no toddler, so have got ourselves pizzas and some drinks and fancy a night staying up too late binge-watching something brilliant like we did pre-baby.

Any suggestions for something great?

In the past we have enjoyed;

Happy Valley
The Fall
Luther
Marcella
Line of Duty
Down Cemetery Road
It’s A Sin
Some of Harlan Coben stuff
Dexter

And in lighter comedy/drama stuff we’ve liked Rooster, High Potential, Sex Education, You, Me & The Apocalypse.

There are more but they’re the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

We have Netflix / Disney+/Now TV and trials of Prime and Apple TV so not much we can’t access!

Many Thanks in advance!

Trigger point (if you've not seen it)

HazeyMid · 30/08/2026 16:43

Special Ops: Lioness on Prime. I am biased though as I love Spy/Espionage type of programs

Yellowstone

Excellent excellent thank you! Some of these we’ve dipped into before but didn’t grip us like others did (we watched series 1 of Happy Valley in one sitting, ending at 4 in the morning Blush)

I should have said we’re not hugely into sci-fi or political dramas.

Slow Horses was excellent - not often anything on TV holds my attention but this did.

Three excellent series @FettleOfKish

Unbelievable
After a young woman is accused of lying about a rape, two female detectives investigate a spate of eerily similar attacks. Inspired by true events.

The Queens Gambit
In a 1950s orphanage, a young girl reveals an astonishing talent for chess and begins an unlikely journey to stardom while grappling with addiction.

The Diplomat
Amid an international crisis, a US diplomat contends with her high-profile job as ambassador to the UK and her strained marriage to a political star.

AFigureWalks · 30/08/2026 17:38

This is England
Yellowstone
Better Call Saul
The Lincoln Lawyer
Good Girls
Dead to Me
Furious
Lucky
The Gallows Pole

Aussiesgettingsmashed · 30/08/2026 17:39

Better Call Saul. Mindhunter. Gomorra. Black Bird. This City Is Ours. The Lost Honour Of Christopher Jeffries. A Confession.

Thank you all. I’ve made a list!

Tonight we ended up delving into Your Friends And Neighbours on AppleTV and have watched 7 episodes so far. Who doesn’t love Jon Hamm?
