Just watched a 3 part psychological thriller called ‘Paula’ on BBC iplayer. What on earth have I just watched? It’s an incoherent series of unbelievable random events crammed into 3 hours but I am left thinking what, why, really? The story is about the main character Paula having a one night stand with a maintenance guy (although she manages to sleep with the PE teacher and policeman as well in the space of 3 episodes) and everything falls apart from there. So many questions. Why was the James living with two different women in his flat, he had clearly fathered children with both women? Why had one of the women tried to kill the other by shutting her in the cupboard? Why did the child leave a dog in a bag in her house? Did she try to find the owner of the dog? Why did James say Paula reminded him of his sister but then slept with her? Why did the policeman hear banging coming from the cupboard in James childhood home but no one was in there? How did James not seem to attract any attention when he crashed his van into a parked car? Why did no one come to the ladies toilets when multiple gunshots were fired? How exactly did she manage to bury James? Did she dig a big hole in the floor of the cellar overnight? Is it not convenient that she managed to drug him in the room she intended to bury him? Was she walking around with the syringe in her pocket just in case she bumped into him again? Why did the writers throw in a pregnancy at the end? I may have missed the answer to some of these questions as I lost interest but needed to know how it ended.

I'm planning on watching this when I have time to binge the whole thing. After reading the OP, I'd better keep full concentration and not drink wine or even glance at my phone!
