I enjoyed this episode. It did feel like a goodbye to Mae from the start.

I didn't enjoy it particularly. An excuse to roll out pregnancy cliches that were neither funny nor endearing.

I can’t see Roy as a dad. Luckily she is rich enough to go it alone and that will probably happen ! He’ll flake out on being a dad.

Yamyamabroad · 01/10/2026 08:05

He was a pretty hands on uncle to Phoebe though - very good apart from the swearing!

the80sweregreat · 01/10/2026 08:37

To be fair, Roy did seem happy about the news. Considering that they haven’t been back together that long.

Yes, DH, DS and I said, pretty much simultaneously, as soon as she got on the bus, ‘Her goose is cooked!’

This. I think his relationship with Phoebe was the first bit of depth they brought to his character in the first season, I can absolutely see him as a dad.

I wasn’t impressed with this one. I still don’t care about the football team and what a massive shit shocker about Zelda (yawn). But nice to see more of Mae.

Oh ffs yes that was annoying!
The characters are just ridiculous this season.
I do still LOVE Ted so much though.

I love Phoebe. I think my favourite moment in all of Ted Lasso is the moment in the Christmas episode when Phoebe has bad breath and is being teased at school, and Roy is reassuring her that it isn't going to smell that bad to him because he's used to locker rooms full of smelly footballers, and then he leans in, smells her breath, blanches, and croaks 'I think you might be dying.'

One thing that bothered me about this episode is why Rebecca, Higgins and Zelda FLEW to Bristol. Just why? What is the point??

I think Roy will be a good dad and Phoebe is going rock being a cousin.

I also think Mae's shares are going to save the day somehow. Or she'll have left them to Henry who seems to resent his dad coaching 'girls' and he'll go rogue...

Because the target audience is American and they would expect the rich folk to fly from one city to another, with no idea that Richmond to Bristol really isn't that far.

I know you're right @MyOtherProfilebut still... bah!

Some of the richer club owners use helicopters (hence the awful disaster at Leicester) but within the South they'd use a luxury car service to pop down the M4!
