I enjoyed this episode. Rupert mentioned, as we predicted! But I'm not so sure it's as simple as him buying shares back.

DuncinToffee · 23/09/2026 21:54

I agree, this was a lot better

fiveminutestochill · 24/09/2026 05:59

I also really enjoyed this one - i still think Zelda is involved in Rupert's shares buying somehow (if it is him)... or Rebecca confronts him, he proves it isn't him but Zelda instead, then he helps her save the club. I loved the Mae, Higgins bit in the pub although wouldn't someone have seen him follow her into the cellar?.

OrdinaryGingerBloke · 24/09/2026 06:22

I don’t think it’s Rupert buying shares at all. I think it’s Zelda. “Follow the anger”. She’s pissed off that Rebecca didn’t go to her party. That’s the only anger we’ve seen this series. And she’s wheedled herself in at Richmond (Rebecca knows better so clearly it’s plot), and is in every episode even when she’s pointless. Surely it has to be her.

It was better than last week. May in the pub going full Eastenders tickled me.

fiveminutestochill · 24/09/2026 08:30

There's a reddit theory that it's Edwin Afuko, which I could believe. He could easily be working with Zelda. I think Rebecca will confront Rupert but realise it's not him and he'll help Rebecca save the club as he'd rather it was successful under her than destroyed under someone else.

Brownbananaspot · 24/09/2026 14:11

It's definitely Zelda. She referenced the 'anger' with no prompting from anyone, I'm surprised the otherwise intelligent Higgins didn't pick up on it. But because plot, probably.

I'm still watching because it's easy and comfortable fluff.

readingmakesmehappy · 26/09/2026 21:20

There's a lot more swearing in this series. Everyone swears as much as Roy. Suggests they've run out of ideas.

Maybe he did; but doesn't want to tip her off at the moment so letting Rebecca think it's Rupert. I think i did catch a glance at Zelda before he told Rebecca about the anger - almost as a 'ffs you're here'

OrdinaryGingerBloke · 27/09/2026 08:28

@fiveminutestochill oh I like that take. I’ll be very happy if Higgins does have her pegged. Hope you’re right!

I noticed that as well. Really put me off. I don’t mind when it’s Roy as it feels like it’s part of his character but if it’s everyone, all the time, it just feels like lazy writing.

the80sweregreat · 27/09/2026 13:28

Keeley really annoys me tbh. She seems the sort of person I’d never get on with even if she’s usually right about so many things ( like the car being stuck )

NCTDN · 27/09/2026 18:34

Keeley really annoys me too.

the80sweregreat · 27/09/2026 18:40

Keeley and her annoying voice , her high heels, her weird clothes and stupid laugh.
Her and the sweary ‘has been ‘ on : off boyfriend deserve each other.

NCTDN · 27/09/2026 18:47

For some reason I really like Roy and his swearing doesn’t bother me. Anyone else’s swearing does, including IRL!

the80sweregreat · 27/09/2026 18:48

The Roy swearing was funny at first ( I don’t mind swearing ) but it’s too far now and they are all at it!

Totally agree

S1 Keeley was great - like a "Everyone thinks she's a shallow idiot but she's actually smart and savvy". Now she just is what all the tabloids etc.said she was, back when she was Jamie's model/influencer girlfriend.

fiveminutestochill · 30/09/2026 07:37

Wow, the episode today is a bit of a rollercoaster.

Yup!

Yamyamabroad · 30/09/2026 12:05

Best episode so far but yes a definite roller coaster. Classic Ted Lasso

OrdinaryGingerBloke · 30/09/2026 13:17

Oh that was much better. Very moving. Nice it was in memory of Anthony Head too.

fundamentallyauthentic · 30/09/2026 19:30

I wasn’t impressed with this one. I still don’t care about the football team and what a massive shit shocker about Zelda (yawn). But nice to see more of Mae.

IdentifyingAsAWoollyMammoth · 30/09/2026 20:49

I've yet to see the latest episode but I've finally nailed down what has really been bugging me - aside from the writing - about this season.

The show is called Ted Lasso but he's a much more peripheral character in his own show. In previous seasons, he was in it much more, and was a driving force behind so much of what the other characters got up to even when he wasn't actually in those scenes. He's barely interacted with Rebecca at all.

It's like Jason said "ok, I'll do a fourth season but I only want to do be in it half as much". And they said "yes".

Trainstrike · 30/09/2026 21:51

Thought this one was the closest to the previous quality, really enjoyed it.

OnlyUsername · 30/09/2026 22:05

I had a bad feeling from about 10 minutes in!
