There’s probably already a thread about this (apologies if there is!), but did anyone else watch The Boroughs and come away feeling really underwhelmed?
It wasn’t terrible. I watched the whole thing and there were definitely some things I liked, but did I actually enjoy it? Not really.
I absolutely loved Stranger Things and went into this expecting a similar kind of experience: cliffhangers, twists, compelling mysteries and characters you become genuinely invested in. Instead, I found the plot surprisingly flat and predictable, with very little emotional payoff. It just felt quite hollow overall.
I also wasn't sold on some of the casting choices, particularly Geena Davis and Jane Kaczmarek, they just didn't seem to "fit", if you know what I mean?
What makes it even more disappointing is that I think it had so much potential. I genuinely liked characters such as Sam, Wally, Judy and Art, which is probably the main reason I stuck with it until the end.
Honestly, I'm not surprised it didn't get a second season. The whole series felt frustratingly lacklustre given what it could have been.
Is anyone else feeling the same way? I'm genuinely gutted because I really wanted to love it, and on paper it seemed like exactly the kind of show I'd enjoy.
