Anyone else watching this? I'm liking it so far, although it does seem to have a summer glow about it. The dynamic looks interesting.
Based on book by Elin Hildetbrand

I watched most of it yesterday while off sick and it’s a fun girly binge watch!! W

I went about 8 years ago! It’s very pretty (and very expensive). We did the Whslr museum and the lighthouse and had a walk around.

Ooh I’m in bed sick and looking for something to watch so I’ll check it out

SourSoppy · 18/07/2026 20:15

I’ve finished this and really liked it. Better quality of script and acting than the usual ‘women in crises go away on a girls weekend’ shows / films. Which can be incredibly cringey.

Gemma Chan is distractingly beautiful. I don’t think I could be friends with her because I’d just end up staring at her face like a weirdo and telling her how pretty she is all the time 🤣

I don’t think I’ve ever actually watched anything with Jennifer Garner in. She’s lovely and I liked her character, but I didn’t realise she spoke with such a baby voice?!

Nantucket looks dreamy. I’d have to stay in that house, though

BoilingHotand50something · 18/07/2026 20:37

I just couldn’t get into it. Was like a Hallmark Christmas movie. I only watched the 1st episode. Does it improve?

Figgygal · 18/07/2026 20:39

Watching it now
Not sure it's got 8 episodes in it
But enjoying so far

I’m on episode 6 and I couldn’t agree more. I wouldn’t have bothered but was waiting for the World Cup to finish!

Yes baby voice but also, I don’t think she’s a great actress

Neither do I! Nothing sincere about the character she played in this

B9waiting · 26/07/2026 16:49

I loved it! Thought it was a great cast - all fantastic actresses.

MurielTheTerrible · 26/07/2026 16:54

I enjoyed it and also loved the look of Nantucket, but the fact it was set there gave me vibes of that series a year or so ago with Nicole Kidman, so my head couldn't keep comparing. Light and watchable for a binge day.

B9waiting · 26/07/2026 17:10

Nantucket is fantastic - been many times on holiday (when we lived in Boston). Beautiful place.

That’s because they’re both based on books by Elin Hildebrand!
I haven’t watched this yet but I absolutely love her books, I’ve read most of them and would love to visit Nantucket now!

B9waiting · 26/07/2026 19:51

Nantucket is worth visiting!

I managed two then skipped to 8 to see how it ended - no surprises there.

I watched for the scenery - also loved Amity Island in Jaws, which we found out at Universal Studios was also used for filming Cabot Cove in Murder She Wrote.

Same, endured the first one and didn’t want to watch any more. Found it a bit cliched and naff. I thought I would love it but was disappointed.
