Sky looking to buy ITV.

I can’t see another thread about this in Telly - I read about this last year as Sky have been seeking to match the bigger streamers for some time, I thought it was just speculative but media news outlets seem to think terms are agreed.

I guess this means that ITVX with its huge back catalogue might become subscription only rather than sub or ads. The future of ITN is also a concern once the current contract expires - Sky won’t need two news rooms.

I’m not a big “live” TV watcher but DM was a big fan of the ITVX back catalog and its one of the few sizeable catalogs with popular drama/entertainment which does not require a sub.
