KIN - does it get better?

Late to the party, I know, but on recommendations from friends, I've started watching Kin (series 1)

I'm 3 episodes in and am not really gripped by it yet which I usually am with a good series. Does it get better and is one of those series where it's a slow start then suddenly pulls you in?

Or shall I give it up as a bad job and start something else?
