Anyone seen TFI Friday Unplugged?

I saw a bit of TFI Friday Unplugged last night after I came in from a night out.

Now I loved that show back in the day and it seems Chris Evans is trying desperately to revive it and make it the same but without the big audience and just a very cringe group of people who hysterically laugh at everything he says.

I felt uncomfortable watching it, it was like watching someone trying to relive their glory days.
Really don't know why he's bothered bringing it back, the world has changed and it just seemed OTT rubbish now. Maybe it always was but it was groundbreaking & edgy then now it just seemed scripted & sad.

Anyone else seen it & got any thoughts?

Completely agree. Saw a bit of it last week and it was cringingly bad. It was intercut with clips from the original which were ok in themselves (which might be nostalgia!) but they really showed up how crap it is now.

I agree. I sat down to watch the first episode on catch up as someone I know was a guest. However, after watching for a while it became so cringeworthy & awful that I ended up skipping to the section featuring the person I knew. I just couldn't watch the other parts. I definitely won't be bothering again, and yet I used to watch nearly every episode back in the 90s. Somethings should just be left as a fond memory from the past!

Yes definitely!
It was of it's time and it should be left in the past, not everything can be brought back.

Chris Evans should find a new vehicle if he wants to be back on TV
Has he no new ideas?

Apparently it was originally brought back in early 2026 by Virgin Radio as a YouTube podcast and it seems it was pretty popular so they commissioned 6 episodes for TV. I'm guessing they saw the opportunity as a low budget money maker, hoping all the old fans would tune and think the reboot was amazing. I think they should have left it as online only! I can't see it getting a further series.

I loved it back in the day, but did find it a bit cringey. I think it's only audience will be older people

I am loving the music segments though

Have they updated the 'It's Your Letters, It's Your Let-ters' bit?

No, same song, same clip. 🙄
