Anyone watching series two of Bergerac? Just watched first episode was good, trying not to binge watch.
I really like Damien Molony, he’s very easy on the eye.

I've never seen it. Would you recommend the first season?

Yes, I watched the 1st episode and enjoyed it.

Yes, I enjoyed it. But I did try to forget the original series.

But you don’t really need to have seen first series.

Dh and I binged the whole of series 2 last night and thought it was pretty good, and actually a bit better than the first series.

Thanks Guys!

Yes, 1st episode was good. The lead doesn't have much charisma but is decent.

I think I just remember him as Hal in Being Human, watching’Putting on the Ritz’ on YouTube is my guilty pleasure.

I have just binged both Seasons and was very impressed

I did try it when it was first dropped , but didnt get on with it. Bingeing it felt a lot better. But then I grew up with John Nettles who was so uncomplicated , rather a frothy show. I really enjoyed the complexities of this Bergerac

Agree I binged in two sittings, I got sidetracked by other binge watching!
Was fun because DH watched it with me and he normally watches sci-fi. Was good to discuss and disagree!
You imagine which bit he didn’t believe was realistic.

We binge watched it over the weekend. Really enjoyed it - good range of characters, though not sure why Ian was played like some kind of idiot. Pleased to say I guessed right both series!

Btw I never watched the earlier series with John Nettles but I thought it was supposed to be an advert for Jersey - nothing about this series made me think I would want to visit. It's not as cute/dramatic as I expected.

Is Ade Edmondson's character a conman? I wondered last week - looking around the restaurant premises and the investor briefly comes to say he's pulling out. Then this week Charlie offers to give him the money.

How long have he and Charlie been together? Is he playing a long game? And ingratiating himself with Bergerac, claiming to have lost a child?

Yes, but John Nettles, back in the day, phwoar!!

I think series 2 is better than series 1.

Good. Love that they kept the music from the original.

Bad. New Bergerac is not a patch on John Nettles and apart from having the same name is nothing like. There isn't much Jersey in it for a start. And what happened to his nice car?

Despite that we still enjoyed watching and will watch series 3 if they make it.

Why haven't BBC or ITV picked it up?
