I thought it was fantastic - the best reality documentary that I've ever seen. Lovely how the kuna people really allowed Sass to open up - wasn't Ana Lida wonderful? Gush, gush (but with good reason).

i watched too last night and blbbed at most of it .lovely heart warming docu.

candyfluff · 19/06/2008 10:06

ops that was meant to say blubbed

Dragonbutter · 19/06/2008 15:15

I was just about to start a thread to say how fantastic i thought it was but found your thread.

It was brilliant. Best bit of telly i've watched in ages. Sass was so good. She was funny and humble and helpful and so charming. Not many women would be able to pull it off and be so accepted.
And the kuna people seemed so full of humour and love.

It was amazing to watch Sass take a step back from her life and see why she is the way she is. And to have gotten the approval she knew was missing...blub blub blub, i'm off again!
I cried and laughed the whole way through.
It's a series right? I think that was 1/6.

PuppyMonkey · 19/06/2008 15:17

Me and Dp want Ana Lida to be our mum now.

welshmum · 19/06/2008 15:18

I loved it too, it made me miss my mum though, I wondered if there was anyone knocking around I could adopt...

saythatagain · 19/06/2008 15:22

I found it good viewing and really felt for Sass; what a wonderful experience for her. I think it will have changed her life.

hockeypuck · 19/06/2008 15:26

I loved it.

I thought Sass was awesome, such a brave woman. I hope she's got tons out of the experience, she seemed to approach it with the right attitude and seemed to really want to learn from it and to serve those she was staying with, with chores and what not.

What impressed me most about the Kuna, was that there was no backchat, no bitchiness, criticism and gossip. THey all seemed to see the positive in each other before all else. A world apart from our existence here. It made me want to resolve to see the best in everyone and give people a ton of compliments.

Yes - was going to check if there was a thread on here about it ! Wasn't it brilliant

I wondered if her mum was watching....

Dragonbutter · 19/06/2008 15:33

Right at the beginning of the programme she spoke about her mum and how she didn't know where she was. Part of me wondered if appearing on this programme was her way of reaching out?
Also, i didn't catch what had actually happened to her mum. She left didn't she? Did she say why or what happened?

How old was she when that happened?

candyfluff · 19/06/2008 16:12

she was 13 and her mum told her she would never forgive her for choosing her dad then she left and sass never saw her again.
i too want ana lina to be my mum

Dragonbutter · 19/06/2008 16:41

Bloody hell. That's harsh.

Whizzz · 19/06/2008 20:30

It's on I-Player here for those who want to watch last nights

chonky · 19/06/2008 21:06

I might have to watch it again (thanks for the link Whizzz). Sass was brilliant - it'll be interesting to see if the next women who go on it will be as fun or as humble. I wish Ana Lida could be my mum; it was a good reminder as to what parenting's actually about.

Sass - if you end up ever reading this we think you're great
