Is MasterChef Professionals skills test too hard with not enough time?

masterchef skills test the professionals is jutsvtoo hard and it enough time and it’s annoying the shit out of me.

Definitely! In the early series it would be an actual skills test rather then an intricate or obscure meal. Now they have brought on previous winners I feel like they are using this as an opportunity to showcase their own skills, rather then set a skills test.

and They have 20 mins to do it. Seems bonkers. Too many components.

I think it’s over complicated now.

I only watch the skills tests because I got bored with all the rest of it, but I think what they are testing is not so much whether they can recreate the finished dish, or fillet the halibut or whatever, it’s what do they do when faced with something really left-field under huge pressure. In my limited experience of professional cooking that’s what separates the good from the best.
