Michael Sheen is apparently hosting the next series, I can’t quit imagine it, it feels like quite a departure for him and for the show. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a brilliant actor but just can’t picture it.

Really? I can't imagine it either. I hated the thing he did with David Tennant - way too much excitable chat. But he's an actor so presumably he can be adaptable. Richard Osman has a gentle presence. It's going to be hard for them to find someone similar.

I find it jarring that Graham Norton presents wheel of fortune, I feel he is a bit too famous for the role. This feels a bit similar to that. The star / presenter bigger than the show.

I agree about the calm presence of Richard Osman, he steers the ship really well down the line of warm and funny.

Maybe Michael Sheen will do it as Richard Osman. Or Brian Clough, that would be fun.

A Brian Clough version would be quite something! Possibly have to be moved to after the watershed though.

I think it's such a shame he's leaving, I really can't imagine anyone filling his shoes. Especially not Michael Sheen.

Michael Sheen is helping to fund the Welsh NT, assuming that’s why is gone for this gig. Good for him

Although it seems a puzzling choice, in this house we’re a little relieved. We thiught it might go to Alexander Armstrong which would have meant a switch off for us. We’d have had to move to Challenge and vintage episodes of Tenable for our teatime fix (but only the Warwick Davies ones, were very choosy).

I'd heard Liza Tarbuck so am very relieved! I feel Michael Sheen has more chance of being a gentle presence than Liza....

I’m assuming that, as he has given most of his money to charity including the WNT he might well need the gig!

Sadly, no. Dil, (who had wanted it to be Alasdair Campbell!) did guess when she was told it was a male actor. Probably because she knows he’s one of my unlikely crushes and I was excited!

RO is a hard act to follow. Warm, funny and personable and quick witted. I'm not keen on Michael Sheen, I've seen him interviewed and haven't been impressed. However, he may turn down the ego and focus on the game.

What do people think of Michael Sheen's first week?

I like him as an actor and he has a good personality but I'm not sold yet. Understandably it's his first week and it will time to get into his stride.

Some of the new 'games' are disappointing though, thankfully they kept 'answersmash'!

The generall 'vibe', I think, is a little more subdued, not as light and fun as it was with RO. The guests are doing their best to make it fun.

I can't be the only one that is glad of the change? RO may well be a nice guy but he was getting a little repetitive with the "nicely done" and over explaining of everything. Not that I'm a big fan of Michael Sheen though.

I think he's fine. Obviously he will take a bit of time to settle in but even by the 2nd episode he seemed more relaxed. I wish he would sit up straight in the chair though!

I am enjoying so far, but perhaps a little underwhelmed. I dont think MS is a bad fit for the show, but I am willing him to be a little better. I am a fan of RO, MS and HofG so that may skew my perspective a bit. I want to love tge show as much as when it first started but I am not there yet.

We watched it on Monday, but were underwhelmed and haven't bothered since.

Some of the games must be great fun for the players but don't do much for me particularly Flamingo, Pot Plant, Middlemarch, Password123 (which goes on forever) and House Rules.

I only really watch it for the classics Where is Kazakhstan? and I'm Terrible at Dating.

@CrossPurposes I like the one where they play the beginning of a song, then fade it out and you have to guess when the lyrics come in.

I like that too. Basically the games where you can play along at home are the best.
