Couldn’t get through the first episode, the kissing was giving me the ick!
Also the older man teeing up a younger person to be a step mother - blech.

The kissing is a bit much. I didn't think I was good at guessing ages but I was fairly accurate (except for Jorge).

I've got a day on my own and am binging it

At what point do the reveal the ages? I might try again if it’s the first ep.

Funny how no one is attracted to anyone the same age as them. Seeing as they all keep saying "age is just a number"...
ETA, the older guys on there are only attracted to the women in their 20s. Funny that.

They reveal the ages once they commit. There's one at the end of episode 1 a couple in each episode.

I'm on episode 5. I don't want to give any spoilers.

One thing that's bothering me is they are all very attractive (like all reality shows). But I think they do look their ages. (Except one of them). I think we often get attractiveness and age muddled up so you think they look young but they don't they look attractive.

The couple where she looks like his mum gives me the ick. I can't remember their names though!

I thought it was a chance for creepy older blokes to get off with much younger women and feel ok about it because it was for tv programme.

I'm watching, it makes me feel uncomfortable but I'm fascinated. Vanelle made a big mistake choosing Jorge. I think once she knows he wasn't honest about having kids that will be the end. Justin was a much better fit for her and he is 🔥. The blonde girl Libby? is way to young for this show.
I've stayed at the location for a wedding a few yrs ago it's a beautiful place and I can see how they could get swept up in the romance of the place.

I’ve watched all the episodes and it’s been fascinating. I like a few of the couples but can’t see any lasting long-term. Pfeiffer and Derek both seem nice, as do John and Teresa, Libby and Andrew. The others have no chance. Totally agree with @DoubleDoubleDown that Vanelle would have been better with Justin. Roll on Wednesday!

I don't normally watch any of these reality dating programmes but ended up bingeing this the other night. Spoilers for first 5 episodes included below....

I've seen a lot of reaction that the whole thing is "ick" and "gross" and it's got me thinking a bit about what people's problems are with age gaps. I think a lot of it is about power dynamics but there's so many other ways that you can have uneven power (looks, wealth, life experiences, dominant personalities etc) that people wouldn't question in the same way. Though there were definitely some places where it felt uncomfortable (particularly some of the older men who seemed to be honing in on the younger women in a slightly predatory way)

The only couple that has massively given me the "ick" was Vanelle and Jorge but the power dynamics were really off with those to in a way that wasn't just about age - Jorge was all red flags, I felt really uncomfortable with that pairing and I'm not at all surprised it came to an early end, am glad Vanelle had the sense to walk away.

In contrast I'm actually really rooting for John and Theresa - those two seem to have a really genuine spark and if you look past their ages they seem to be very equally matched and they seem attracted to each other in spite of the age gap rather because of it, but are realistic about the challenges it involves. I'll be watching the rest just to see what happens to them!

There's a tiny bit where they show some of the couples who matched who were similar ages - there were loads of people at the start of the show and they've only focused the edit on the more extreme age differences.

I do get the vibe from some of the couples that they're 'playing the game' and had deliberately paired up with someone who seemed significantly younger/older to stay in the show.

After watching the last episode I think vanelle had just as many red flags as Jorge. She came off as very manipulative and I can understand why he was confused. She claims she wants to remain celebate yet she wants to ' fool around in bed ride him and simulate orgasm. When he told her it was confusing she just shut him down. I also understood where he was coming from how he delt with the Crazy who harassed them, living in Vancouver you have to have your Witts about you and stand firm. Glad they ended things, they were so incompatible.

I didn't think she was manipulative at all - she can define her celibacy as she wants and I don't think it's at all uncommon for people to draw a line at intercourse but be happy to engage in other sexual activities. Either way it's her boundary - he seemed to be trying to pressure her about it while trying to create the impression that he wasn't. He was a domineering presence which overlaid with their age gap I found really uncomfortable - she was clearly attracted to his 'alpha' type personality but the reality of living with it wasn't nice.

Side note - is 'eavesdropping' on people in the bedroom the norm in these kind of shows? It feels like such an invasion of privacy. I really hope the participants fully understood what they were signing up for!

@stayawayfromthattrapdoor- Absolutely she can define her celibacy however she wants but you should be open to.a conversation about what that means and where your boundaries are with the person you're sharing a bed with. Yes the eavesdropping is very common.

I’ve watched up to where they are going to meet up with family. I just don’t get how they cannot see how old everyone is, I can. Surely the conversations you have can give an indication of age by how they live their lives. The younger men are quite immature, in my opinion. Will carry on watching, maybe they will concentrate more on the other couples.

I felt she was fairly clear about her boundary and the implication was that she was being a 'tease' and that he was trying to undermine her position (though she could have handled things somewhat better too, it was him who unsettled me).

I caught up with the next two episodes last night. Despite being Team John and Theresa it was really uncomfortable when John was meeting her son who is older than he is. Logically I don't know why that makes a difference (like if she had younger children how would that change things - if anything it's better her children are grown and independent, surely?) but it's quite hard to wrap your head around.

Of the other couples I thin Pfiefer and Derrick might potentially have longevity (but I wouldn't bet on it) but the others are all a mess. When Libby met her friends you could really see clearly how much of a young 22 she is.

Libby and her friends reminded me of my 15yo DD when she is with her girlfriends.

Logan’s not interested. Neither is the young bloke who’s matched up with the flight attendant.

Yes, I felt that some people were there to play the game and knew if they matched with someone closer to their own age they would not be in the extended programme.

I really liked Justin S, he was gorgeous, I hope he gets lots of women from the appearance, as he was very open and vulnerable.

I stopped watching after the ages were revealed and I really don't think any of the relationships will last

Anyone try guess the ages? Got them all within 2/3 years other than one where I was 12/13 years out. Genuinely gobsmacked by it.

The bit where he was talking about how much he wanted to be a dad, I swooned. Someone please snap that man up and give him some babies! If my ovaries weren’t past it I’d do it myself 😂

I think he was lovely but maybe it's a good thing he didn't get picked. His email in-box will be full of emails from women now.
