Has anyone else started again? I've started again and on episode 2. I'll have to try not to binge too much.

They all look so young. Poor Chummy is getting so much stick. The Spanish lady with 24 dcs! I couldn't remember any of it.

My DM has dementia and basically just watches it on repeat - once she's at the end she starts again.

To be fair she could probably watch the same five episodes on a loop and it would be enough..

I thought about doing this again when they were reminiscing over the photographs! All those familar faces, and I wanted to remind myself of their stories.

The earlier episodes are so much better.
I still watch but get very irritated by the choppy and stilted storylines and dreadful acting. It never recovered from that awful series made after COVID.

Is this suitable for family viewing? It's so long since I watched it I can't remember if it was shown after the watershed or not!

Think I’m going to rewatch too. I liked the earlier episodes that were true to the books.

I started rewatching this week too. The early episodes are very gritty and are more realistic than the last ones. They’re based on the true stories in the books, which I’d highly recommend reading.

Yes, I started rewatching in December and I'm up to session 6 now. Patsy has just left to go back to Hong Kong, I forgot how much I liked her character

Daughter and I love it, but mainly take the p these days. We have rewatched from the beginning a few times and it was a very different a show. A much harder and realistic watch, but absolutely fascinating in regards to social history and sobering in many ways. This is the show we fell in love with, we never joked about it in the early seasons.

Now it is very much a comfort watch, and we laugh about the absurdity of no racisim, abilism, classism or stigma around unmarried mothers. The writing has become truly absurd and very much through a 21st century lense. Heidi Thomas has been allowed to get away with an absolute twee mess for several series, but it still gets the ratings and it has kept her husband front and centre. I will miss it though.

Im at the part where Chummy’s mam has cancer. The first few seasons are so sad!

Chummy's just left for Africa for me.

Nurse Crane has just arrived...she said she's temporary. Giving sister Evangelina some grief 😂
