Re-watching and omg what an absolute inappropriate creep Ross is! I appreciate that things were different in the 90s but even then he was way over the line.

Yeah, he certainly doesn't come across as a heartthrob in retrospect- just a massive twat. I don't know how far you've got into it, but there are some episodes in which his promiscuity is painted in a negative light.

There are a LOT of issues in ER. Of its time I suppose. I've just watched the first couple of episodes again. It really was monumental though when it started. The camera work for example was really quite novel.

The characters though, yes Ross was a total creep. Later on though Kovac was terrible. He shagged his way around, when he was with Abby he beat a man barely to death for no reason and yet we are still supposed to see him as a good man. It really is horrible.

Bloody love it though.

I haven't watched it before and I'm slowly plodding through it, there are a lot of episodes and I have to keep stopping to watch other much shorter series. Enjoying it but it may take probably near a year to get through it.

Ick, you don't know where he has been.

DH and I have been saying the same. Hard to see how GC became a heartthrob from playing Dr Ross. He’s such a creep.

I don’t think I noticed first time around because we rarely watched every episode of anything and you notice much more when you’re binge watching episodes back to back.

Remember it wasn’t designed to be binge watched, it was broadcast over years.

From medical shows we know why A&E is so slow, on Casualty and ER there was often barely time to fit in patients between the relationship drama.

The now apparent bad behavior of the hearttbrop of the moment aside, watch out for all the now successful actors in it. As small roles that is. There needs to be a check list 😀

(That's not including the famous at the time actors who appear in later series.)
