Looking for some suggestions for tv programmes that your eight/ nine year old enjoys.

We have Disney and the usual uk channels. Travel, art, science themed as well as adventurous stories (not too scary/ violent as dc on the sensitive side).

Thanks

Is this on a Netflix? We don’t have a subscription for that at the moment. I was looking to get the books as it sounds good.

Ok

Dodger (on iPlayer, CBBC)

Thanks, we’ll check them out.

Things we’ve enjoyed recently are The Houdini Club (Disney) (kids solving mysteries) and Best Foot Forward (making friends at new environment, Apple TV).
Also, Art Ninja (projects ideas) and the making of Aardman animation documentary.

Odd Squad on CBBC is currently on my daughters tablet. Shes 11 but likes to rewatch it when shes ill. Also the Inbestigators, very similar to the Houdini Club. And you cant go wrong with Horrible Histories.

There used to be a series on CBBC called Dwight in Shining Armour. It was hilarious but sadly not there any more.

Total Drama is big with DD and has been for a couple of years now. Not exactly educational but quite a fun take on reality TV shows. The ridonculous race season is on CBBC.

Little Lunch (Australian and very funny, even for me).
The Inbestigators
Malory Towers
The Worst Witch
Mustangs FC is all good.

These are all on iplayer/CBBC.

Seconded. These are long term staples in my house.

Ghosts on BBC iplayer.
It was broadcast on BBC1/2 around 8pm so aimed at adults but suitable for older children. The ghosts are played by Horrible Histories actors 😄 A good one to watch together.

There’s a big cat special starting on Friday on bbc. Mine loved spring watch at that age (not until May). There’s a programme about the Romans on channel 4 (or maybe 5, watching on Sky) at the moment if they like history. Look for horrible histories on bbc, brilliant, I watch it from time to time, kids are grown!
