Favourite Anime Series?

I'm looking for some new anime series to watch, as I've just finished Kimetsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer) and The Summer Hikaru Died and I'm not sure what to watch next.

Historically I've enjoyed Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Barakamon, Fullmetal Alchemist, Another, K-On!, and Dungeon Meshi when it comes to series. I've really enjoyed some of the Western anime-style series I've seen as well, like Netflix's Castlevania. I like I'm not so well-versed when it comes to films, but I'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli and I loved Ghost in the Shell. I'm clearly not picky on genre, so as long as it's an interesting story with good animation then I'm happy to give it a go!

Really I'm just interested to hear other people's favourites and, if I'm lucky, find some hidden gems I've never heard of before!

My recent favourites have been - Undead Unluck, DanDaDan, JJK, Assassination classroom, Kaiju no8 and Apothecary diaries.

I think Kadocha is very good, silly, but also touching, but it's old which some people can't tolerate. Also Tantei Gakuen Q, Nana and I really enjoyed Sandland recently and Solo levelling. 2 of my faves are Hajime no Ippo and Great Teacher Onizuka.

I've been feeling good anime is a bit sparse at the moment. Everything seems overly violent, too wacky on purpose and too many isekai.

Yu Yu Hakusho, Death Note and Sailor Moon

how could I forget Vox Machina & The mighty Nein

Apothecary diaries, Frieren and Spy family.

I keep having Blue eyed samurai and arcane suggested - everyone else in house loves arcane but haven't watched yet.

I enjoyed One piece live action and keep seeing clips for One Piece but huge amount is off putting to me. I liked Castlevania as well. I'm kind of new to anime but am currently watching Kimetsu No Yaiba as well and I know DH watched Dungeon Meshi so seen bits when walking in and out so might watch that as well.

There’s been quite a few I’ve enjoyed recently, but I’m currently really loving Dorohedoro. It’s wonderfully weird and imaginative. Glad I’ve come to it a bit late as season 2 is due fairly soon and I’m already itching for s2 of Dungeon Meshi as it is.

I’d go for something long-running if you’re in the mood to sink into a world for a while. I used One Piece Filler List to keep track of story arcs, and it made watching One Piece way smoother without skipping anything important. For shorter stuff, Jujutsu Kaisen or Mob Psycho 100 hit that mix of action and emotion pretty well.
