I got rid of my television a decade or so ago, i decided the licence just wasn't worth it and i was furious with the BBC for its horrible history with abusers and the crazy money they were throwing at talentless presenters. Best decision ever, I listen to music, audio books free from my library, read, and occasionally watch a film on dvd. T v is so offensive these days, horrible soap operas full of miserable story lines, "reality" shows full of dreadful fake people doing awful stupid stuff and cheap repeats of dusty old shows. I don't miss any of it. The only downside is when my friends forget and talk about programs they watch, i have to keep reminding them, but no biggy really. Plus it take a while to register with the BBC licence 'police', they seem to struggle with the notion of NOT having a t v.

I don't think tv is rubbish nowadays

And I watch a fair bit on BBC so to me it's worth the license
