It was the first time I've seen it in years. I used to think Maxim was sooo gorgeous and it was one of my favourite books. But this time around I thought he was a control freak who spoke to her very rudely and very patronisingly, and frankly she should run a mile. Ah, the wisdom of maturity.

Yes. Although I've seen a couple of other versions as well - notably the rather handsome Charles Dance!
