Just can't do this at all - DH just turned over to it and it totally freaked me out. 30 seconds and I can't get the image out of my mind

DH can't understand how I can lap up X Files/Buffy/Holby etc but turn green at this - but the others just aren't real. This program is just too gross.

bleurgh, is it gross?

dinny · 24/01/2005 23:23

It shouldn't be - they just started discecting someone - taking the skin off their arm and I've seen far worse. I saw an episode of X Files last week that had about 5 totally skinned bloody corpses, but the sight of a real arm, even without blood has made me go green. I am obviously a complete light weight, and I'm now making DH skip onto C5 so I can catch Big cook little cook

I am usually quite pathetic re blood etc but am curiously unaffected by this at the mo. Perhaps have drunk too much

dinny · 24/01/2005 23:26

what a sad end to one's existence! doing the brain now - AARGH!

dinny · 24/01/2005 23:26

had to turn over quick, revolting.

serenity · 24/01/2005 23:29

DH turned back when I mentioned the brain, and now it isn't bothering me as much. Sadly, he no longer seems to be a 'person', just meat - still amazingly gross though.

serenity · 24/01/2005 23:32

dinny · 24/01/2005 23:35

serenity · 24/01/2005 23:37

e,,,, Third Rock even. Time for bed!

serenity · 24/01/2005 23:43

I'm emotionally disturbed, and can't be expected to remember the name of the actual program I'm watching.

And it's late.

When I first joined the NHS I had a cook's tour, during which I saw a post mortem. Quite disturbing but very fascinating!

serenity · 24/01/2005 23:58

This evening has bought it home to me that I have absolutely no place in any medical profession whatsoever.

What do you do in the NHS BGD?

OP posts:
BigGayDad · 25/01/2005 00:00

Bizarrely given my previous posting, I'm an accountant!

serenity · 25/01/2005 00:03

Oh god, so I can't even consider an admin job in a hospital?????

First day there 'oh don't worry about that filing yet, come and meet our other new starters, they'll be being cut up by medical students later today.......' blergh

I was spending a couple of days in the path labs as part getting to understand what goes on in the hospital. I was talking to the consultant and mentioned that I had a biology degree. He then asked me if I wanted to see the PM. Couldn't pass up that experience.

I turned up to see it but he sent me away, only to call me back a couple of hours later. I found out that he sent me away cos he was doing a PM on a child and felt watching that would be too traumatic. How right he was

serenity · 25/01/2005 00:12

no, definitely not a child
