Welcome to Thread 11 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far - this is a mid episode thread change so do not read on if you are not up to date with the live broadcast!

I suspect Rachel will be the banished player. It's a horrible way to go though.
Looking forward to the final and I hope Faraaz does manage to convince the others to banish Stephen at the firepit (as much as I like Stephen).

The traitors choosing to murder Roxy and not Faraaz is what will ultimately cost them, Roxy never suspected Rachel and Stephen as Traitors but they chose to murder her. Makes me wonder if producers are interfering as makes no logical sense to have done that.

That would directly affect who wins the money - so no, the producers were not involved, it's not permitted. As has been said many times.

Hir post too soon by accident!

I won't be able to start watching at 8 tonight. How long will it be after it's aired before the episode lands on iplayer? It's supposed to be almost immediately but it isn't.

Edited

It’s not on until 8.30 anyway. But you can fire the live show up on iplayer and hit watch from start.

Yes and no facial expressions beyond what’s necessary or reactions at breakfast

She is obvoiusly an excellent corporate comms lead! Calm, delivering the message clearly, succintly and without emotion.
I think she's been a brilliant player. I also think her softer, more empathetic side has shown in the last couple of episodes.

I didn't like Leanne either. Rachel has obviously decided that saying too much is as bad as saying too little. That's why she makes shorter responses. It's a good tactic.

Leanne was the one who would get so mad and act like it was incredibly out of order for anyone to suggest she was a traitor, but fine for her to accuse others, wasn’t she? Took it way too personally and terrible double standards.

PineappleSunrise · 23/01/2026 17:09

Umbilicat · 23/01/2026 15:25

Leanne won with that behaviour. If you're able to pull it off then great, though it's no fun to watch.

She did, but she was also telling the truth. Her outrage was sincere, even if lots of viewers didn’t like it. Rachel, in the other hand, is lying and deliberately using her outrage to deflect suspicion from her lies.

They’re not actually doing exactly the same thing.

ImVotingForYourself · 23/01/2026 17:14

If Rachels been banished, I think it will work out well for Stephen that he didn't vote for her. He can use the excuse that if he had been a traitor, he would have known she was and voted her out when it looked like it was going that way l,.at least second time. I think he could easily make the case against either of the two who changed their vote!

CaveMum · 23/01/2026 17:19

Maggiethecat · 23/01/2026 16:13

Think you should be getting some of that prize money 😜

I’d settle for cocktails and dinner with Claudia!

I think Stephen had no choice but to discuss Rachel with the others otherwise he would start to look suspicious.

I don’t know how anyone can believe James is a traitor. It makes me laugh thinking of it. He’d be saying I’m going to murder you tonight, sorry.

He’d say “I’m going to murder you and I own that” - it’s his catchphrase!

It's a TV competition... for the BBC. It's WATER TIGHT.

Do you really think they could and would interfere?

What's far more likely is tired, emotional people making mistakes in a high stakes competition that they have been completely immersed in for days...

justtheotheronemrswembley · 23/01/2026 17:44

"Do you really think they could and would interfere?"

Not directly, no - they can't because of the prize money.

I wondered about the placement of the two chests that Claudia brought in on a tray, one in front of the other. My instinct told me that whoever got first pick would reach over and take the one from the back. My instinct also told me that James would let Rachel go first which is what happened, and that's exactly the chest she took. So if the producers could do anything at all, they might have looked at the psychology behind that choice, and work out who was most likely to pick which chest.

I think it is easy to forget that this is all consuming. The contestants have no time away other than completely alone in a hotel room. No contact with their families. None of the everyday distractions like social media. Can’t watch TV or read the news paper. It must be so intense, especially if you are a traitor and trying to hold it all together and having to lie all day long. No wonder Alan burst into tears at the end of the celeb version.

ThatCyanCat · 23/01/2026 17:50

I hate the chests thing. They should rig up some kind of lots system which Claudia draws.

stollenisthebest · 23/01/2026 17:53

I was rooting for Rachel and Stephen, but killing Roxy instead of Faraaz has ended up being a massive mistake. I imagine they thought it'd be too obvious if he was killed straight after he'd said to everyone he suspected Rachel. They probably planned to kill him after the hill tower challenge instead, but of course didn't get the chance when the rules were changed so there was no murder.

Rachel can't possibly win now. James will get voted out too. I think the most likely winners will be Faraaz and Jack. Second most likely is Stephen if he gets Jade and Jack to (somehow) vote against Faraaz.

Beachtastic · 23/01/2026 17:56

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 23/01/2026 15:02

Not sure what your saying

given what they bring up (the most uncharitable things - you were sweating - you gasped - you didn’t tie boat up as a sailor would) I can well see someone questioning it - maybe aside after the task

I was just wondering if "bring it up" was a deliberate pun on projectile vomiting!

The producers wouldn't know who was going to pick first though. I also don't think the producers would have a favourite they want to win. The prize pot wouldn't change whoever won it.

Sievecandle · 23/01/2026 18:24

I think there have been too many shields this series - although I wonder if the producers like them because it may stop all the smartest players getting murdered straightaway? Wasn't keen on the secret traitor idea either.

I have never rooted for the Traitors to win but in this series I would be happy for Rachel and Stephen to win - but that is currently looking very unlikely for Rachel unless she can stage an incredible comeback.

I do think the producers know who would be a satisfying winner and they would have those discussions.

Also they do have a lot of sway with who they put in cars together, who gets chance to talk, they can certainly influence.

No, but as I said, they might have worked out the likelihood that the man would let the woman choose first and she would pick the furthest away.

It is a game of chance, but some choices aren't totally random - they follow a pattern.

PotteryChuck · 23/01/2026 18:25

"The Seer" was 100% a producer move, as Charlotte was almost guaranteed a win.

dapsnotplimsolls · 23/01/2026 18:30

Is anyone else looking forward to Stephen's outfits tonight?

cariadlet · 23/01/2026 18:31

If the faithfuls vote out James because they think he is a traitor, they are even more cluesless than I thought. I have never seen anyone more impulsive and incapable of duplicity. Even when he sneakily took a shield, he had to tell his small group almost straight away. There's no way that he could be a traitor and not tell anyone for this amount of time.

Piknik · 23/01/2026 18:33

It must be frustrating for the producers. Every time they try to introduce a twist, it falls flat or worse, spoils the game:

Seer - ruined the game
Secret Traitor - meh
Family connections - meh
Getting to question the Traitors - meh
Double vote - ok but could have been played out so much better (revealling the dagger holder AFTER the vote) - maybe even the dagger holder not knowing they are the dagger holder.

I really think the way to go is more actual clues as to the Traitors idendity hidden in amongst challenges and around the Castle. Really hard ones, but at least something to 'work out'.

rainforestalliance · 23/01/2026 18:34

Not sure whether this has been discussed here (haven’t read the previous threads sorry) but do we know whether they have access to a wardrobe? Jades amazing cardigan is the same brand as one Charlotte church wore in the celeb version which made me wonder if they are supplied clothes.

I can’t see them successfully predicting anything when James is involved 😂

I have a soft spot for James - he’s totally ruled by his impulses but I think he has a lot of heart!
