Couldn’t see a thread for this one off programme which was on ITV Sunday night ( 14th).
Ant and Dec sent Steven Mullhurn to South Korea.
I could really sympathize with him as many of the things he didn’t like or wasn’t happy doing are the same for me too! Dh was rolling his eyes as he said we had things in common .. lol
Was hoping to see more of S Korea, but they didn’t show a great deal.
Also reminded me of Karl Pilkington when he used to have to do things he didn’t like much.

Didn't watch it but from the trailers it looks like a direct rip off of The Moaning of Life with Cal Pilkington

We watched it and enjoyed it more than we expected. Felt it would have been good as a few episodes in different locations as they crammed a lot in. I did feel that there was unnecessary animal cruelty though in eating the fish alive :( even if that is cultural

It's a beautiful country, I agree it's a pity they didn't show much of it. I thought Stephen Mulhearn was funny, I knew how he felt about hearing people eating! At least he discovered he can eat some kinds of seafood.

Sorry, I spelt his surname wrong in my opening post.
I do like him and I agree that the eating made my teeth on edge.
At least he went into the sea, but you could feel his discomfort.

Total rip-off of An Idiot Abroad and nowhere near as funny. Watched it but didn't rate it.

Never watched Idiot Abroad but would like to (love Karl Pilkington) but can only find it available where you have to pay extra and I pay for enough for streaming services.

I’m quite enjoying this show though - Stephen Mulhern shares very little of his personal life so it was interesting seeing him with his family and hearing how stuck in his ways he is and scared of trying new things (quite surprising for a show biz person I would think)
It wouldn’t make a long series but as a one off or a couple of shows I think it was good easy viewing.

the80sweregreat · 16/12/2025 11:53

I was wondering if he would share what was wrong with him three years ago.
The physic was a bit odd. Most people could say to anyone ‘ you have had a relative who has passed ‘ and be right. The illness one not as much , but you’ll be 50/ 50 to getting some of it right I bet. I know I sound a bit of a cynic though and have been to see mediums myself ( when I was younger )

Not got to that part yet but I’m a cynic about psychics too (despite visiting then when younger like you)

I’d forgotten that a few years ago he disappeared for a while
