Looking for a thread on this but can’t find it. I just binged it in two days while being ill.

Thought the few few episodes were so good with all the ‘missed opportunities’ - they did it very well without it being too clunky. Not as keen on the last couple though for some reason, was expecting a ‘big’ ending but it’s ripe for season 2 now.

Loved Walter and Aria (although was v unrealistic how she was ‘discovered’). Def have to suspend belief for a lot if it but it did have a lovely warm feeling (I want to go to the bar!!).

Actuslly through the Kris character was putting on a bad English accent, but she is English (unless she was exaggerating it for effect).

I binged this as well. It was easy viewing - didn't require much brain power and wasn't anxiety inducing in anyway.

I found Kris and her obvious wig quite irritating. Nate was easy on the eye, though.

Watching it now - feels very cheap to me and the acting isn’t the best 😬 script is clunky too and it’s one of those programmes where no one talks like they do in real life.

Also I don’t know if I’ve watched too many twisty shows in recent years but it seems very bland, just watching these peoples’ lives unfold. Why isn’t there a secret evil twin or husband living a double life etc 😂

Loved this! An easy watch while ill. It won’t win any awards but was proper comfortable viewing.

I guessed what was happening in the last episode where Nate was in hospital (no spoilers!). Lots of setting up for S2 in there. Wonder if they actually will do one. Online comments were non-committal.

Spoiler

Kris was quite irritating I agree. Prob my least favourite character. I’m glad they showed that she had to move in to a shit apartment cos if leaving er job, rather than living it up in nyc with no income. I thought Walter was gonna help her financially when he went round.

I was hoping for something a bit more exciting at the end - def left it open for season 2.

I’m a sucker for a ‘sliding doors’ type scenario.

That was really sad. Although one thing - there was no-one losing their hair. They could’ve had Finn in a hat.

It’s no way as good as This Is Us - there has been comparisons - I loved that so much.

I also binged while ill. It did what it needed to. It did give me ‘This is us’ vibes but what no-where near as good. Was always going to be a bit corny given the theme, could have been worse. I’d watch a series 2, as background when doing other things.

LemograssLollipop · 13/12/2025 22:06

Easy watching, binged over a couple of days. Watched with my 10yo and it didn't contain anything inappropriate. Loved the interior of Aria's apartment but didn't like her husband.
Was sad Walter didn't share his wife had died with his basketball buddies

I gave up after 15 mins, couldn't get into it at all.

I enjoyed it, rather like a very poor man's This is Us. I would like a second series but I don't think it should run to any more than that. It was probably about the same sort of level as some of those daytime series that are on which are quite enjoyable.

I abandoned it even more quickly - at the point where the so in love couple pressed their foreheads together and said ‘Always. Always’. I’m afraid it was just too much cheesy schmaltz for me too early on. Also usually an early indicator of impending tragedy. Whatever you do, don’t be too in love on a TV show🤣 I might have overlooked it further into the show when I got to know the characters.
